TOKEN2049 is a Web3 industry conference operated by BOB Group Limited, a Hong Kong registered company, and held on two city lines: Singapore, at Marina Bay Sands since 2022, and Dubai, at Madinat Jumeirah since 2024. The first edition was held in Hong Kong in March 2018, and a London line followed in 2021 and 2022.
Four city lines across eight years produce a record in which almost every scale figure was published by the organizer, on a different measurement each time. The first edition alone has two first-party accounts of its size, one published before it and one given years later.

What TOKEN2049 is
TOKEN2049 is an annual conference on Web3, operated by BOB Group Limited and held under city-specific editions rather than as a single travelling event. The organizer's own releases set the scope at the sector: its Dubai launch announcement presented the event as a Web3 conference expanding its global footprint, its London announcements described the London edition as Europe's leading Web3 conference, and its 2025 Singapore release described that edition as the world's largest Web3 event. Scope is defined by sector rather than by asset or protocol, which is the structural difference between TOKEN2049 and single-asset conferences.
The audience the organizer targets is senior. Its Singapore marketing sets a threshold of more than 60% C-level attendance, a target published before an edition takes place rather than a measurement taken after one. Its Dubai event report, published after that edition, gives 77% international attendees, more than 4,000 companies represented and more than 150 countries.
Pricing is published only as a range. The organizer's TOKEN2049 Week site carries a countdown banner rather than a tier table, and the only prices published on the organizer's own domain run from $399 to $4,999 [14]. The specific tiers within that range could not be verified.
A second property is the surrounding programme. Side events organised by third parties are counted and published by the organizer as a headline figure for each edition. Side-event counts are counts of sessions, not of people, and the two are kept separate throughout this article.
Who runs TOKEN2049 — and who owns the organizer
BOB Group Limited is the legal operating entity behind TOKEN2049. The terms and conditions published on the event's site name that company and place the contract under Hong Kong law, which makes the organizer a Hong Kong registered company irrespective of where any individual edition is held [13]. The year of incorporation could not be verified.
The founding group is stated by the organizer's own side as four people. A feature published by Singapore Global Network, a Singapore government publication, refers to Peter Noszek "along with his three co-founders" and names Alexander Fiskum as his co-founder. Two of the four are named in first-party sources; a complete four-name roster from a single source does not exist, and none is asserted here. Noszek's status as a co-founder is documented in that same feature.
Alex Fiskum, listed as Co-Founder, has been the sole named spokesperson in the organizer's press releases since 2023. Statements about programme direction are issued in his name, and the organizer publishes no board or governance structure beyond that.
The organizer's stated programme priority, published in an August 2026 release, is institutional participation. The release describes institutional participation as "a major focus" of the edition it announced, and names BlackRock, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Nasdaq, NYSE, CME and Franklin Templeton as firms whose executives were expected to appear. That is a statement of intent published before an edition, and it is recorded here as such.
The disclosure consequence follows from the ownership structure. A privately held operating company files nothing and publishes no audited figures, and it is the sole publisher of almost every number attached to its own events. Every scale figure in this article therefore carries the name of whoever published it.
Where and when each edition has been held
TOKEN2049 has run four city lines since 2018, two of which have closed and two of which continue. The lines are set out below in the order they opened, because the editions overlap in time and a single chronological list obscures which line each edition belongs to.
The Hong Kong line, 2018 to 2019. The first edition ran on March 20–21, 2018 at the Kerry Hotel in Hong Kong. The organizer's release, published a month before it opened, gives no number and anticipates "thousands of attendees"; a first-party account given years later puts the figure at about 1,000, and the two are set out in the attendance section below. The second edition ran on March 13–14, 2019, on dates the organizer published in a release dated December 11, 2018. The same release stated that the organizer expected more than 2,000 attendees. The venue of the 2019 Hong Kong edition could not be verified, and no post-event attendance figure for it could be verified either. Hong Kong's position as a conference city is examined separately in 2026 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival: How TradFi Is Rewriting the Main Narrative of Web3.
The London line, 2021 to 2022. The 2021 edition ran on October 7–8 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms. The 2022 edition ran on November 9–10 at Magazine London, and the organizer's release for it described that venue as holding 3,000-plus. That figure is a venue capacity and not an attendance figure of any kind. The same period produced the organizer's own description of its geography at the time, an event "organised annually in Singapore and London." Attendance figures for both London editions could not be verified.
The Singapore line, from 2022. Marina Bay Sands has hosted the Singapore line since 2022, on the venue operator's own record of four consecutive years, and the venue operator records the 2022 edition as the first of that line. The exact conference dates of the 2022 edition could not be verified. The organizer's pre-event release for it gives more than 2,000 exhibiting companies, 250-plus sponsors and 150-plus side events. The 2023 edition ran on September 13–14; six days before it opened, the organizer announced more than 10,000 confirmed attendees, 400-plus side events and more than 300 exhibitors. The 2024 edition ran on September 18–19 and was reported by the organizer after close at 20,000 attendees, with 800-plus side events and more than 400 exhibitors. The 2025 edition ran on October 1–2, and the organizer's event report, published after it closed, gives more than 25,000 attendees from more than 160 countries, 1,000-plus side events, 500-plus exhibitors and 300-plus speakers [20]. That edition occupied all five levels of the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, with the main stage in the Sands Grand Ballroom on Level 5; the five levels are the levels of the convention centre, not of the wider Marina Bay Sands property.
The Dubai line, from 2024. The Dubai edition launched in 2024 and not earlier, contrary to secondary accounts. The first Dubai edition ran on April 18–19, 2024 at Madinat Jumeirah. The organizer reported 10,000 passes sold, with the edition sold out close to three weeks before opening, 90% of pass holders travelling internationally and more than 160 countries represented, alongside 300-plus side events and 200-plus speakers. The 2025 edition ran on April 30 to May 1 at the same venue. The organizer's event report for it gives 15,000, with 150-plus countries, 500-plus side events, 200-plus exhibitors and 200-plus speakers.
The week that grew around the conference
Side events are counted and published by the organizer itself. The Singapore line's published counts run from 150-plus in 2022 to 400-plus in 2023, 800-plus in 2024 and 1,000-plus in 2025, but they were not published at the same point: the 2022 and 2023 counts come from releases issued before those editions, and the 2024 and 2025 counts from reporting after them. The series mixes two timings, so no growth multiple is drawn from it here. The Dubai line's counts are 300-plus for its first edition and 500-plus for its second. None of these are attendance figures, and they are not convertible into one.
The organizer sells the surrounding week as a product in its own right. Its TOKEN2049 Week site lists a Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix package — practice and sprint qualifying, the sprint race and qualifying, and the night race — among the week's ticketed activities, priced from $200 to $12,000. That listing is the only first-party evidence of the tie between the conference and the race weekend; quotations attributed to the organizer about combining the two could not be sourced to a citable original.
Independent paid conferences also schedule themselves into the same week and appear on the organizer's week listing. Those listed include the Digital Asset Summit Asia at $699 to $2,199, Sui Basecamp at $99 to $299, and the Stablecoin Summit and Vault Summit at $500 to $750 each. The invitation-only Milken Institute Asia Summit and Forbes Global CEO Conference appear on the same listing without public pricing.
The organizer's own additions to the week sit below the main conference rather than beside it. Origins is a 36-hour hackathon, in its second edition. NEXUS is a startup competition judged by Dragonfly, Multicoin and Maelstrom, which the organizer records as taking 500 registrations down to ten finalists in 2025. These are attached modules, not the main body of the event, and their registration counts are separate from any attendance figure.
TOKEN2049 vs Consensus, Bitcoin Asia, ETHDenver and Korea Blockchain Week
Five structural properties locate TOKEN2049 among the five conferences in this series. Each is stated from the TOKEN2049 side; figures for the other four are documented in their own archive entries.
TOKEN2049 opened in 2018. Korea Blockchain Week also opened in 2018, in Seoul. ETHDenver was founded in 2017 and held its first in-person edition in 2018. Bitcoin Asia opened in 2024. Consensus, first held in New York in 2015, is the oldest of the five.
TOKEN2049's organizer is a private company. BOB Group Limited is registered in Hong Kong. Among the other four organizers, CoinDesk Events is part of Bullish, an exchange group listed on the New York Stock Exchange; BTC Inc, which produces Bitcoin Asia, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nasdaq-listed Nakamoto Inc; ETHDenver is owned by SporkDAO, a Colorado limited cooperative association, which places that event in community ownership; Korea Blockchain Week is produced by FactBlock. Consensus is the only one of the five held by a listed exchange group.
TOKEN2049's scope is Web3 as a whole. Consensus treats crypto, blockchain and AI as one field. ETHDenver is built around the Ethereum ecosystem on a developer hackathon base. Korea Blockchain Week covers crypto broadly. Bitcoin Asia is the single-asset event of the group, covering Bitcoin only.
TOKEN2049 runs multiple city lines under one brand. Hong Kong gave way to London, and Singapore and Dubai now run in parallel. Consensus also runs more than one city, on a different pattern: two editions a year, an Asian edition and a North American flagship. ETHDenver, Korea Blockchain Week and Bitcoin Asia have each stayed in one city.
TOKEN2049's largest published figure belongs to its Singapore line, at 25,000 attendees reported by the organizer after the 2025 edition. Figures across the five conferences are not comparable with one another, because each organizer publishes on a different measurement: cumulative person-times in one case, headcounts, registrations, passes sold and pre-event targets in others.
Moments that mattered
Announcements made from the Dubai stage account for most of the event's news record, and one of them was reported with two different names attached to it.
At the 2025 Dubai edition, an announcement was made that World Liberty Financial's USD1 stablecoin would be used by the Abu Dhabi fund MGX to execute a $2 billion investment into Binance. The organizer's event report attributes the disclosure jointly to Eric Trump and to World Liberty Financial co-founder Zach Witkoff. The attribution then divides by outlet: CoinDesk filed the announcement under Eric Trump's name, while The Block filed it under Witkoff's. The difference is one of attribution rather than of substance, and neither version is selected here.
Changpeng Zhao returned to the stage at the same edition, and the organizer's event report carries a photograph of that appearance on its cover. He used the appearance to state a goal of offering free education to one billion children through Giggle Academy; that figure is a stated objective and has no relation to any attendance measurement. Goldman Sachs used the same edition to set out trading, lending and tokenisation initiatives, and OKX founder Star Xu launched OKX Pay there.
The 2025 Dubai edition also produced a Guinness World Record show flown with 1,500 drones. The number of drones is not a number of people, a distinction worth stating because the figure circulates without its unit.
Pavel Durov was an announced headline speaker at the first Dubai edition in 2024, which took place before his arrest in France on August 24, 2024. The Block reported in mid-March 2025 that he had been permitted to leave France for Dubai, roughly six weeks before the 2025 Dubai edition opened [18]. He does not appear in the speaker list of the organizer's official event report for that edition.
The first Dubai edition opened two days after the heaviest rainfall recorded in the United Arab Emirates in 75 years, which CNN reported on April 16 and 17, 2024 [19]. The conference opened on April 18. The organizer's own post-event release states that "despite the UAE's heaviest rainfall in 75 years, the conference opened to a full-house." "Full-house" is the organizer's own wording and not a count, no independently reported assessment of the flooding's effect on the event could be verified, and the two events are recorded here in sequence without any causal claim.
The Singapore line's own record is dominated by scale. The 2025 edition was reported by the organizer at 25,000 attendees, the largest figure it has published for any edition on any line.
The Dubai edition that was postponed
TOKEN2049 postponed a main-line edition for the first time in its history in March 2026, when the organizer announced that its planned Dubai edition would not proceed as scheduled. The reason given on the organizer's announcement page is quoted in full: the decision was taken "in light of the ongoing uncertainty in the region and its impact on safety, international travel and logistics" [15].
The disposition is a postponement and not a cancellation. The organizer stated that tickets already purchased carry over automatically to the rescheduled Dubai edition, and that holders may instead transfer to the Singapore edition. Accounts describing the Dubai line as cancelled or discontinued do not match the organizer's own announcement.
Two contextual facts are on the record and are stated here without any causal or political interpretation. The Block reported that the decision followed missile and drone attacks near Dubai International Airport and the surrounding financial district [16]. The Block also reported that TON had cancelled its own Gateway Dubai event the previous day [17]. No inference about cause is drawn from either report.
How many people actually attend TOKEN2049
Attendance figures for TOKEN2049 come almost entirely from the organizer, and four separate problems make them non-substitutable.
The first edition carries two first-party figures that measure different things. The organizer's 2018 release, published a month before the event, anticipated "thousands of attendees" without giving a number; co-founder Peter Noszek, recalling the edition years later in a Singapore Global Network feature, puts it at about 1,000. One is a pre-event expectation and the other a later recollection, so they do not answer the same question, and neither is treated here as a count.
Dubai's first edition is the most frequently misread. The 10,000 attached to it is a count of passes sold, published when the edition sold out close to three weeks before opening, not a turnstile count.
Singapore 2022 carries two figures that are not in conflict. The organizer published more than 7,000 as a pre-event expectation; Marina Bay Sands, the venue operator, published 7,500 delegates after the event. Different publishers, different measurements, different points in time.
Targets are the fourth case. The organizer's Singapore page publishes pre-event goals — 25,000-plus attendance, 7,000-plus companies, 300-plus speakers, more than 60% C-level — that are marketing targets, not results. No cumulative person-times figure has been published for any edition, and figures on different measurements are never added together here.
Frequently asked questions
Who organises TOKEN2049, and where is the organizer registered? TOKEN2049 is operated by BOB Group Limited, a Hong Kong registered company named in the terms and conditions published on the event site, which place the contract under Hong Kong law. The organizer's side describes a founding group of four co-founders, of whom two are named in first-party sources: Peter Noszek and Alexander Fiskum. The company's year of incorporation could not be verified.
Which cities has TOKEN2049 been held in? Four. The event began in Hong Kong, which hosted the 2018 and 2019 editions. London hosted the 2021 and 2022 editions. Singapore has hosted an edition each year since 2022, at Marina Bay Sands. Dubai has hosted an edition at Madinat Jumeirah since its first edition in 2024. The Hong Kong and London lines have not been resumed.
How many people attend TOKEN2049? No independently audited figure exists for any edition. The largest post-event figure the organizer has published is more than 25,000 attendees for the 2025 Singapore edition, following 20,000 for 2024; the more than 10,000 announced for 2023 was a count of confirmed attendees published before that edition. The 10,000 published for the first Dubai edition is a count of passes sold, and the 15,000 in the organizer's second Dubai report is a separate post-event figure on that line.
Is TOKEN2049 a Bitcoin conference? No. TOKEN2049's scope is Web3 as a sector, which the organizer's own releases state across its city lines. Single-asset events are a different category, and the difference determines both the speaker list and the exhibitor composition.
What do TOKEN2049 tickets cost? The organizer publishes a range rather than a tier table. Prices on its own domain run from $399 to $4,999, and the specific tiers within that range could not be verified. Separate pricing applies to the ticketed activities of TOKEN2049 Week, including a Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix package listed from $200 to $12,000.
What is TOKEN2049 Week? TOKEN2049 Week is the programme of events around the main conference. It comprises third-party side events, which the organizer counts and publishes by edition; independent paid conferences that schedule themselves into the same days; Formula 1 race-weekend sessions sold as ticketed activities; and the organizer's own Origins hackathon and NEXUS startup competition. Side-event counts are counts of sessions, not of people.
Has a TOKEN2049 edition ever been called off? One Dubai edition was postponed, which the organizer attributed to uncertainty in the region and its effect on safety, international travel and logistics. The organizer treated it as a postponement rather than a cancellation: tickets carried over to the rescheduled Dubai edition, with the option to transfer to Singapore instead.
