A new wallet has opened a big leveraged bet on Monero. The trader created a fresh wallet, deposited four million USDC into Hyperliquid, and opened a 5x long on 3,000 XMR. The position is worth about $1.77 million. The timing stands out because XMR just fell below the $600 level.

XMR is trading near $590, down from a recent high near $657. That spike was quickly rejected, and the price has since moved sideways between $580 and $620. The last few daily candles are red, and the latest one closed below $600, a level buyers had held for several days. Even so, the bigger picture still favors the bulls.
XMR has climbed from around $320 in July to almost double that value. All major moving averages are rising and sit well below the price. The nearest support is around $577, followed by the cluster near $552 to $557. Deeper support sits at about $505 and $453, where the longer averages are trending up.
Volume tells a mixed story. Buying volume was strong during the rush toward $620, but it has decreased during the latest dip. Lower volume on a pullback is usually a sign of a normal pause rather than a full reversal. The RSI is near 55, down from the overheated levels seen in September. This means the market has cooled off without turning weak, and there is room for another move up before the indicator reaches the overbought zone.
Why This Trade Matters
A 5x long is a risky position. With four million USDC deposited and only about $1.77 million used as the position size, the trader has plenty of extra margin. That puts the liquidation price far below the current market price, so a small drop will not wipe out the trade. This suggests the trader plans to hold through volatility rather than gamble on a quick bounce.
Large new wallets like this one often draw attention because they can signal confidence from a big player. Still, one trade does not decide where the price goes. Whales can be wrong, and they can close positions quickly.
Traders should watch the $577 area first. If XMR holds there and climbs back above $600, the uptrend remains intact and another test of $620 to $660 becomes likely. If the price breaks below $577, a drop toward $552 is the next logical target. For now, Monero remains in a strong uptrend that is taking a short break. The whale long adds to the bullish story, but the price must reclaim $600 to confirm that buyers are back in control.
