A Zcash (ZEC) whale reportedly holding over $15 million in crypto assets, including 10,241 ZEC worth $11.69 million, has been accumulating Nullmask (MASK). Over three days, the wallet allegedly bought 3.69 million MASK tokens worth about $151,000. While the buying activity is attracting attention, MASK's token distribution raises considerable concerns.
What Is Nullmask?
Nullmask is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency project developing zero-knowledge technology for private transfers and swaps. Its MASK token operates on Solana and offers ZEC-related holder rewards alongside announced token buybacks. Unlike typical memecoins, Nullmask has genuine privacy utility. However, having a functioning product does not eliminate the risks associated with its token.
The Biggest Red Flag: Token Concentration
Arkham data shows that one wallet holds about 384.28 million MASK, representing 39.36% of the total supply, worth nearly $16 million. The six largest displayed holders together control over 50% of the supply. Separately, Rug.Tools reported that the top ten addresses held about 56.12% on October 18.

Importantly, the largest wallet appears consistent with Nullmask's protocol treasury tracked by DeFiLlama, rather than necessarily belonging to an independent whale. Nevertheless, questions remain about who controls these tokens, whether they are locked, and under what conditions they might enter circulation. Such concentration creates significant potential selling pressure.
Liquidity and Valuation Risks
Rug.Tools recorded about $1.22 million in liquidity against a market capitalization of $23.64 million. Large sell orders could therefore cause severe price slippage. MASK also carries a 3% transfer fee, creating additional trading costs.
Another issue is the disconnect between valuation and adoption. DeFiLlama reported roughly $58,000 in protocol total value locked on October 20, compared with MASK's approximately $24 million market capitalization. Reported protocol revenue also includes ZEC rewards received by the team wallet, meaning those figures should not be interpreted purely as revenue from real privacy-service usage.
A whale buying MASK is not evidence of a sustainable investment opportunity. With concentrated ownership, limited liquidity, a young protocol, and speculative demand, traders chasing whale activity could face significant losses if sentiment reverses.
